Marketing Lead (Contract)
The Marketing Lead Role

As Carbon Zero’s first Marketing Lead, you’ll build pre-launch awareness and drive early adoption of Carbon Zero’s climate positive credit card. You’ll work closely with leadership, product, and outside stakeholders to understand our audience segments and craft messaging to address these audiences. You’ll develop integrated campaigns to reach and convert these audiences across paid advertising, content, social, email and influencers.

At your core, you are curious, empathetic, motivated, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be supported by a passionate and high-performing group of cross-functional innovators to reach our common goal—to make climate positive the new normal.

Your day-to-day will involve:
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns for different audiences across the funnel, from brand to direct response.
  • Continuously ideate, test, iterate, and optimize growth via paid acquisition, retargeting, and product optimizations across web and native-app growth channels.
  • Perform research to deeply understand our customer’s habits and preferences, and identify emerging markets. Use these insights to improve unique and sustained growth for Carbon Zero.
  • Manage relationships and collaborate closely with creative teams and agencies to build messaging and experiences that will delight and drive more customers to Carbon Zero.
  • Develop and manage Carbon Zero’s suite of owned channels, including but not limited to Email, SMS, and Push.
  • Collaborate with the product team to guide the brand positioning for future releases.
Some things we consider critical for this role:
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience setting a Product Marketing strategy and executing on it, ideally at an early-stage consumer-facing startup or lending business.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using analytics tools. We’ll be looking to you for guidance on which toolstack to implement; please come with opinions!
  • Experience managing partner relationships and a foundational understanding of successful partner programs.
  • Diligence in managing complex, cross-functional projects and budgets.
  • Self-motivation and focus on high-quality, on-time execution.
Things we consider nice-to-have:
  • Basic web development skills are a big plus (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with Facebook Ads Manager is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Webflow is a plus.
  • Strong copywriter with a talent for uncovering resonant customer insights.
